Gregor studies modern and contemporary art from the United States and Germany. He's currently preparing a dissertation proposal about the fabric objects of Franz Erhard Walther. He holds an MA in Modern Art from Columbia University, where he wrote his thesis on the element of frustration in Öyvind Fahlström's variable paintings. 

Gregor has also worked as an art critic and occasional curator in Berlin and New York. Most recently, he curated "The Eye and the Sky," an exhibition of aerial photography from Edward Muybridge to Trevor Paglen at the Cantor Arts Center. His writing and criticism have been published in publications like Artforum, Art Papers, Frieze, October and Texte zur Kunst.
