The Department of Art & Art History offers the BA degree in Art History, Art Practice, and Film & Media Studies.

The undergraduate programs are designed to help students think critically about the visual arts and visual culture. Courses focus on the meaning of images and media, their historical development, roles in society, and relationships to disciplines such as literature, music, and philosophy. Work performed in the classroom, studio, and screening room is designed to develop a student's powers of perception, capacity for visual analysis, knowledge of technical processes, and appreciation for the significance of art across a broad chronological and geographical range.

How to Declare

Students wishing to declare a major or minor should schedule an appointment with the Student Services Specialist.  At this meeting you will review the program requirements and select a faculty advisor. Students may then declare on Axess, and the Student Services Specialist will approve your declaration request.
