Stanford Computational Film Festival

The Department of Art & Art History at Stanford University presents the Stanford Computational Film Festival, featuring works by students in Art Studio course 163 Drawing with Code, taught by faculty Camille Utterback.

Throughout this course, students have explored how to approach art-making via sets of software rules they write. The complex patterns and narratives generated in these seventeen short films range from the abstract, to the political. All represent students’ deep engagement with this evolving medium.

Please join us from 6-7 PM on Wednesday, June 7th in Oshman Hall as we screen these remarkable 'films’.

Works by: Ramin Ahmari, Oluwasanya Awe, Janette Cheng, Rylan Edlin, Mateo Garcia, Christopher Heung, David Mallick, Raphael Palefsky-Smith, Eric Rawn, Bradley Reyes, Tyler Sadlier, Ian Sparkman, Elliott Spelman, Michelle Wan, Lucy Wang, Melissa Weyant, Jared Wolens, Katherine Yang.

If you would like to see additional print and installation based projects from this course, please stop by AG110 (behind the Stanford Art Gallery) from 3-5pm on the same day, Wed. Jun 7th where we will be hosting an informal open classroom.
