Shifting Fields: Contemporary Chinese Painting brings together a diverse group of works by ten accomplished and promising artists from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Spanning multiple genres and incorporating unconventional materials, the forty-nine works on view offer but a glimpse of the concerns and talents of young artists working within and beyond both Chinese and Western painting traditions. Curated by Xiaoze Xie, the Paul L. & Phyllis Wattis Professor of Art at Stanford University, this exhibition is a unique opportunity to see and learn about a new generation of emerging artists working today.
