Aliens: A Symposium on the Cultural Identity and Regionality of Contemporary Chinese Art

A group of prominent scholars, curators, and artists will gather at Stanford to reflect on the exhibition history of contemporary Chinese art in the US, from Inside Out to Art and China after 1989: Theater of the World. Participants will discuss important issues such as cultural identity, regionality, and globalism in recent trends of contemporary Chinese art. Against the backdrop of the US-China trade war and ongoing tension, this timely event is organized in the spirit of fostering understanding, dialogue, and exchange among peoples and cultures.
