Academic Facilities
McMurtry Building
The McMurtry Building opened for classes in fall 2015. Housed within 96,000 square feet of this academic building are programs in art practice, art history, film and media studies, and documentary film and video.
Oshman Hall
The Barbara and M. Kenneth Oshman Lecture Hall & Presentation Space is managed by the Department of Art & Art History and the Office of the Registrar. In addition to its function as a lecture-style classroom, Oshman Hall supports university arts programming.
Art Practice Studios
The Department of Art & Art History oversees several studio spaces, including studios for Drawing, Painting, Experimental Media Arts, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture in the McMurtry Building. There is additional studio space for graduate students and faculty in Bleeker Hall.
Exhibition Spaces
The Department of Art & Art History oversees several gallery spaces, including the Stanford Art Gallery on the main campus and the Coulter Art Gallery in the McMurtry Building. The McMurtry Building is also home to the Mohr Student Gallery and Gunn Foyer & Moghadam Family Gallery Arcade.
Documentary Film Spaces
The McMurtry Building houses editing rooms, a green screen room, a recording studio, a screening room, and more.
