Born in the Peninsula of Yucatan, Mexico, of Mayan ancestry. Work as an artist, independent curator, and cultural manager in the contemporary art field of Mexico.

Artist Statement

My practice is interdisciplinary encompassing media such as drawing, sculpture, installation art, and cultural management. Primarily I work with designing spaces that expand the possibilities of perception in public spaces—generating dynamics of spatial and ideological contrast, like oriels or constructions that are dislocated from the place they inhabit, creating new spaces to gather around and watch.

I conceive my work involved in the struggles of the working class and against the biases of colonial spaces and speeches. My main interest in art production is its capacity to involve the spectator in unstable and ephemeral positions—as a way of questioning biopolitical and neo-colonial structures through situational experiences.
