Jessica Monette is a multidisciplinary artist from New Orleans working in the Bay Area. Some of the themes she investigates in her work include the maintenance and expansion of cultural retention throughout the African diaspora, ancestral influences, colonialism, identity, marginalization and the political and social implications of Hurricane Katrina 2005. She oscillates between mediums such as painting sculpture and installation in order to examine the intricacies of Black existence.
