About

Emily Davis Adams is a visual artist primarily interested in representational painting. Her work references a range of sources, including scientific and religious imagery, digitally manipulated photographs, art objects, and constructions of her own design. Adams attended UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture before transferring to UC Berkeley where she studied in both the Department of Art Practice and the College of Natural Resources. She received a BS from UC Berkeley in Society and Environment with a focus on Science and Technology Studies and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art in New York City, where she was also awarded the 2011 postgraduate fellowship. Her work has been exhibited nationally and has been reviewed in several publications including Artillery Magazine and the Los Angeles Times.
