Emilia Cottignoli researches perception and experience in medieval and contemporary art, architecture, and installation. Her dissertation centers the twenty-first century skyspaces of American artist James Turrell and their relationship to ground, environment, and landscape imaginaries.
Emilia holds a BA from Tufts University in Art History and International Literary/Visual Studies and is working toward a PhD in Art History at Stanford University.
