About

Elizabeth Lo is an award-winning nonfiction filmmaker who seeks to find new, aesthetic ways of exploring the boundaries between species, class, and states of personhood. Her short films have been showcased at festivals across North America and Europe, including​ ​Sundance, True/False, SFIFF, Hot Docs, and DOK Leipzig. 
 
Her short, Hotel 22, was nominated for an IDA Documentary Award, and was featured on New York Times Op-Docs. Elizabeth is the recipient of the Telluride Student Symposium Fellowship, the UFVA Carol Fielding Grant, the Enerson Foundation Breitrose Award, and the Stanford University Spice Award. She is currently an M.F.A. candidate in the Stanford University documentary film program. Prior to graduate school, Elizabeth wrote and co-produced for the award-winning documentary series, Our America with Lisa Ling (now on CNN). She was born and raised in Hong Kong, and received her B.F.A. in Film and Literature from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.​
