Documentary Film and Video

About

David is a documentary filmmaker originally from outside Philadelphia.

He received his B.A. in Film & Media Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, and has been living and working in Los Angeles for five years. He edited We, The Marines, an IMAX documentary installation at the Marine Corps Heritage Museum in Quantico, Virginia, and he shot additional footage for the theatrically-distributed IMAX film America’s Musical Journey, narrated by Morgan Freeman. David also recently assistant-edited an upcoming feature documentary by Clay Tweel. He’s worked in post-production with Tracy Droz Tragos, Clay Jeter and Billy McMillin, and has shot and edited for Netflix, Nike, CNNFilms, and 60 Second Docs.

David’s work is grounded in intimate, character-driven, verite storytelling that reframes our understanding of -- and gives voice to -- those who identify or may be viewed as outsiders. He is a 2019 IFP Documentary Lab Fellow, and is in post-production on his feature directorial debut, MEMPHIS.
