Adrian is a storyteller from Oakland, California. He has a BFA in film from the San Francisco Art Institute. He was the producer and casting director on the dramatic feature Licks, which was distributed internationally in 2016 by Blue Sky Media. As director and producer of the documentary series Picture A Change, Adrian led a team of filmmakers to Mississippi and around the globe to document the efforts of grassroots organizations led by women.
Adrian has volunteered at the San Francisco Juvenile Hall teaching storytelling to youth in detention. Here he designed in collaboration with Choices For Freedom a program that would allow kids access to theater as a form of expression.
SF Camerawork and the John Collier Society for Visual Anthropology recognized Adrian’s work titled “Mama’s Babies” a series of multimedia installations exploring Black matriarchy in America. He continues to explore the ways storytelling can be used as both a catalyst for change and means of healing for his community.
