Museum of the Revolution wins Best Feature at Big Sky

Museum of the Revolution by faculty member Srđan Keča has won the Best Feature award at this year's Big Sky Documentary Festival. 

Museum of the Revolution premiered in November 2021 at IDFA and went on to screen at dozens of festivals including HotDocs, FICG, Trieste Film Festival and Jihlava IDFF, picking up awards and and critical acclaim. A story about three women living in the remnants of an utopian architectural project, it has so far been theatrically released in Germany, Canada and Croatia and was broadcast on Al Jazeera Documentary Channel and RTL GEO.

The feature-length competition at Big Sky also included the world premiere of Matter of Mind: My ALS directed by alumnae Anna Moot-Levin (MFA '12) and Laura Green (MFA '12), who also served as producers. The film was co-produced by alumni David Alvarado (MFA '10) and Jason Sussberg (MFA '10).

David Zucker's (MFA '21) Your Friend, Memphis had its Montana premiere at Big Sky, following its world premiere at last year's SXSW and a string of other festival appearances.

The Mini-doc competition program featured Continuum, a first year Winter quarter film by current MFA Documentary Film students Sruti Visweswaran and Rowan Ings.

Laura Gamse's (MFA '21) Stanford thesis film Couchsurfing: The Rise and Demise of a Dream had its Northwest premiere at the fest.

Entering its 20th year, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the premier venue for non-fiction film in the American West. This year's edition of the festival runs from February 17-26 in Missoula, Montana.
