Art Practice MFA Class of '25 receives 2024 Murphy & Cadogan Awards
Stanford's Art Practice MFA cohort (Class of 2025) has achieved remarkable recognition by being awarded the prestigious 2024 Murphy & Cadogan Contemporary Art Awards, celebrating their outstanding talent and artistic promise.
Elina Frumerman received the Jack and Gertrude Murphy Award of $40,000, given to an MFA student of exceptional caliber with great artistic promise. Edwin Anthony and Adalaine Boudreaux Cadogan both experienced financial challenges as art students and understood the great difference scholarships can make in the early phase of an artist’s career. The rest of the cohort, Damon Casarez, Emily Harter, and Cooper Salmon, are winners of the Cadogan Scholarships, receiving $6,500 each to support their MFA studies. All students benefit by exhibiting at SOMArts Cultural Center as well as by receiving mentorship from exhibition curator Kevin B. Chen.
SOMArts is proud to partner with the San Francisco Foundation to present the 2024 Murphy and Cadogan Contemporary Art Awards Exhibition, a focused look at the future of the Bay Area visual arts, on view November 2–December 6, 2024. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, November 1, 6-9pm. Please join us in celebrating this talented cohort!
