The Department of Art & Art History at Stanford University presents Minutes Older, an exhibition of work by MFA Documentary Film and Video students, on view from January 17 to January 24, 2017 at the Gunn Foyer and Miller Discussion Space in the McMurtry Building. The opening event and reception will take place on Tuesday, January 17, from 5:30-7 PM in Oshman Hall, McMurtry Building.

On view at the Gunn Foyer will be eight short documentaries by 1st year MFA Documentary Film and Video candidates. Shot on black and white 16mm film with non-sync sound, they display a variety of students’ imaginative responses to the constraints of the medium. In the Miller Discussion Space, eight digital short documentaries by current 2nd year MFA Documentary candidates will be projected.

The opening event on January 17 at 5:30 PM will feature a performance by Boris Oicherman, MFA Art Practice candidate, based on Herz Frank’s 1978 short documentary Ten Minutes Older. As part of the performance, a new high-quality digital scan of this seminal work will be screened.
