This exhibit of artists’ books explores the possibilities embodied by the expanded form of the book. These artists initially responded to three themes: accordion books as fluid time; the traditions of building books from folios and signatures; and creating book covers that are visually embodiments of their content. Each artist then created a final book expanding on these three themes and more.
The work was generated during the spring quarter class Art Book Object taught by Gail Wight and Shirin Towfiq.
