The Department of Art & Art History and the Bowes Art & Architecture Library present Full of Autumnal Scent: 10 years of graduate printmaking from Tama Art University, Tokyo, Japan, an exhibition at the Stanford Art Gallery.

Printmaking has long held a significant position in Stanford’s art practice thanks to internationally known professors such as Nathan Oliveira and Enrique Chagoya. Since 2009, the Bowes Art & Architecture Library has received yearly printmaking portfolios from Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan. These portfolios feature print mediums such as etching, lithography, relief and screen printing created by graduating Tama Art students. These artworks are beautiful, technically flawless, and represent some of the best works by young printmakers trained in Japan, where the medium enjoys a venerable and illustrious history.
