Artist talk with Natalia Almada

Wednesday, January 19, 2022 - 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Online via Zoom

Please note that this event, previously planned to take place in person, will now take place online via Zoom. Please register in advance.

Stanford Department of Art & Art History presents an artist talk with filmmaker Natalia Almada.

Natalia Almada combines artistic expression with social inquiry to make films that are both personal reflections and critical social commentaries. Her films are visually stunning, often lyrical and bold as she grapples with ideas/issues of identity, history, violence, memory, and loss. Her work straddles the boundaries of documentary, fiction, and experimental film. She will speak about her artistic practice, her ongoing inquiry on form, and the role of subjectivity in her work. This event will take place online via Zoom. Please register in advance (your name and email address are required). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the Zoom meeting.
