Your Stanford journey doesn't end at graduation.

As a Department of Art & Art History alum, you are part of a creative community of artists, scholars, and storytellers. We’re here to help you stay connected, continue learning, and share your experiences with the next generation of thinkers and makers.

Meet our alums

Our alums go on to shape the arts and culture landscape as archivists, educators, filmmakers, fine artists, curators, nonprofit leaders, and more. Each quarter, the department invites one alum to share about their work and unique career trajectory in the arts.

“My days are shaped by the classes I teach, the projects I’m engaged in at Stanford and beyond, and the work unfolding in my studio practice. I split my time between the Department of Art & Art History and the School of Medicine, with the aim of keeping a sense of humanity at the center of education. These are two worlds I navigated during my Art Practice MFA, and that remain deeply connected in my work today.”

"I knew I wanted to be an artist, but I also knew that I wanted the broad-based liberal arts education that Stanford could give me, and not a day goes by that I don’t draw on all that I read and learned at school for my painting practice."
