        • Short Bio:

Maria Fortiz-Morse seeks to communicate the essential humanity of her subjects through the use of intimate observational camerawork. Her experience growing-up in a multiracial family has inspired her to document stories that can bridge cultural differences and compel viewers to question their investment in the conventional. Prior studying documentary filmmaking at Stanford University, Fortiz-Morse has worked as an associate producer at In The Life Media (PBS) in New York and as a multimedia consultant in Washington, DC.  She is currently developing her thesis film about the legacy of civil war in the El Salvadoran immigrant community.
