Katie has recently become obsessed with Barbie as not only an object and image, but also as a cultural icon. She believes Barbies are babes, bitches and a perception of beauty. She claims she has grown to love them. Katie is currently working on a series of projects related to Barbie in a variety of different media.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Katie is a blonde, bubbly city girl who prefers to be constantly in motion. At Stanford she has invested herself in a variety of ways and is currently one of the Peer Advisors for the Art Department. Her interests are varied, including driving, laughing, playing with words, and Barbie. Her heroes are Chuck Close, Flannery O'Conner, and Edward Hopper. She is happy to help navigate pretty much anything inside or outside the department. What she doesn't know, she'll make up, so don't take her too seriously. Next year she will be returning to LA to face the entertainment industry as she pursues an MFA at USC School of Cinematic Arts.
